Giving Tuesday! It's Always the Right Season to Give Back
#GivingTuesday—was launched in 2012 as day for giving back during the holiday season, amidst the usual focus on getting deals, spending money, and general consumerism.
From its inception, Flour Craft has prioritized giving back to our community. Each year we select 4 local nonprofits and donate a fixed % of monthly sales between them. For 2019, our recipients were:
Marin Humane Society- Located in Novato. The Marin Humane Society is a local, independent organization dedicated to the well being of animals in our community.
MALT- A member supported non-profit organization that permanently protects working farms in Marin County by purchasing agricultural conservation easements on farmland.
Edible Schoolyard - Founded by Alice Waters with the goal of involving students directly in planting and caring for an organic garden. Their ongoing mission is to build and share a national edible education curriculum for pre-K through high school students.
Youth in Arts builds visual and performing arts skills through innovative and in-depth programs that foster confidence, compassion and resilience in students of all abilities. They develop capacity among educators and teaching artists, advocate for equitable access to arts education and offer opportunities for youth to share their creative voices.
Because of your generous support of our business, we were able to donate over $10K to our various organizations last year alone. Let’s do more good together in 2020! We can’t wait to share details of our 2020 recipients, which will be selected next month.
